The Role of a Coach

* to assist players in learning and developing their knowledge and skills
* to encourage and guide players to strive to better their performance
* to encourage harmony within a team
* to foster a sense of fun and love of sport
* to encourage players to work together as a team. Netball is a team, not an individual sport and one player, no matter how good, can play by themselves. Players in a team must learn to rely on their team mates
* to foster encouragement amongst the players and to discourage criticism between players
* to ensure all players have a fair run on the court throughout the season
* to help build the self esteem and confidence of each player
* to develop and follow a program that will enhance the knowledge and skills of each player.
* to set a good example to the team - ie, turn up for every training session, matches and to be on time and have a clear well thought out training session prepared
* to make sure all players stretch and warm up before each training sessions and matches
* to act responsibly at all times
* to take care of and responsibility for all club equipment at training sessions and matches
